Lippies from 2018

As we know, I am obsessed with lippies. Sometimes I have to force myself stay away from the lipstick sections when I went window shopping. Here are the lippies I bought in 2018. Seriously, I thought I have more, but I guess I did have a sober mind after all. I will give some of my thoughts here about the lipsticks and if I would recommend them. Bare in mind, my lips are not particularly dry, so I do not normally find lipsticks drying.

For the second half of the year, I seems to go with the theme "Chilli Red". Obviously, there is one, and the only one, lipgloss which is not within this "Chilli Red" category.  For all I bought in the second half of the year, my absolutely go two are the Nars Mona and Lancome No.196. Strangely, I do not normally go for the matte lipstick as I do not like the tightness feeling they leave on my lips. However, Lancome No.196 does none of that and the colour go with any look I put on, brighten up my whole complexion.  Nars Mona is a typical autumnal deep red. I like to use my finger and smug it on my lips. It left a very nice tint red. Dior Ultra Rouge Ultratrouble is a weird one. It is meant to be a moisture one, as the name and the advertise suggested. However, it seems to dry out on my lips quite easily. Remember, I do not have dry lips! So when I feel the lippy is drying out my lips, that is a big NO NO to me. Hence, it has been sitting in my drawer for some time now. Not like the others, I got the YSL Vinyl Cream Stain Rhythm Red and Givenchy No.315 over the summer. YSL is quite a bright red with a gloss finishing. I love the way it leaves stain on my lips and very easy to reapply. I wore it to a wedding party, and I love how low maintenance it is. Givenchy No.315 is a pink lipstick with a tiny bit of purple undertone. I used this beauty all over my summer holiday. It is matte, but then again, not drying at all.

When the Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine first came out, it was such a big thing all over the beauty market. Everyone was talking about it. Of course, I then went ahead to buy one. I would not say I was blown away by it. Again, a bit like Dior Ultra Rouge, Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Shine was supposed to be quite moisture and with the shine finishing. Unfortunately, it dried up my lips after a while as well. Not like Chanel Amoureux. This was my "go to" in the first half of 2018. It was a very warm nudy pink, suits my work and I fell in love with the creamy but matte finishing.  Nars Jane, again, is another "go to". It has been sitting in every bags I carry out. Throughout all the lippies I bought in 2018, Nars Jane has been the one I used the most and I love the most. It is a salmon pink colour. Gives my face a settle finish when I used it. Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame is the first CT lipstick I have ever own. As you can see from the photo, it is very similar to Nars Jane, just a bit deeper and a bit more browny. We went to Italy this summer, it was very dry and hot. I brought Givenchy #315 and YSL Excited Me Pink with me. I thought I would be using the Givenchy most of the time as it was a newbie to me, however, the dry weather has made me use the YSL most of the time. As the name suggested, it is like a balmy liquid lipstick. I did not notice I was wearing the lipstick the whole time, it provided such moisture on my lips, especially in the very hot weather.

Those are the ones I bought in 2018. Yes, they seem to all be high end brands, I do have some high street brands lipsticks, but most of them are gifts and we will not be talking about those now, otherwise, the blog will be super duper long.......Anyway, as I said, I love all my lipsticks, just sadly, I am not the most loyal person when it comes to lipsticks and I seem to keep buying the new ones. But, honestly, who doesn't!?;)
